This 2 bedroom apartment is in a small secure development in the elegant London region of Highbury. Just 10 minutes by Tube from Oxford Circus, Highbury is a charming and historic village which is the perfect location for a London visit. We are also the owners of Casal dei Fichi, the highest  rated property in Italy's Marche region and we have applied the same high standards to the creation of its City cousin.

The apartment is situated on the 1st (US 2nd) floor in a purpose built development consisting of just 3 properties. The development is in a quiet cul-de-sac and there is little disturbance from passing traffic and has a private entrance so the apartment is very secure.

A 10 minute walk through Highbury Fields leads to Highbury and Islington station (Victoria Line, London Overground and Network Rail) with fast underground links to central London (Oxford Circus  10 mins, The City 10 mins, St Pancras International Station 3 mins, 15 to Stratford for the London Olympic Park and 20 minutes to Canary Wharf). These give easy access to all of London's airports and main line railway stations. Arsenal station on the Piccadilly line is also in easy walking distance, London's extensive bus network is also on the door stop with the number 19 which passes right through the centre of London (Piccadilly Circus) running 24 hours a day.

The living room contains a large sofa which comfortably seats 3 to 4 people and easily converts to a full sized double bed. Flat screen TV with DVD player and music system with Ipod dock and connection for MP3 players. 2 additional armchairs and dining table seating 6 people. Large French windows look over the well maintained gardens of the development opposite.

Master bedroom: King sized Warren Evans bed with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space.

2nd Bedroom: 2 full sized single beds with wardrobe. All bed linen is provided with luxury Egyptian cotton sheets.

A separate kitchen with modern units and granite worksurfaces with plenty of space for food preparation. Full electric oven, gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher.  A washing machine / dryer is also provided.

Luxurious modern bathroom with L shaped shower bath. Heated towel rail and John Lewis bath sheets.

Highbury Barn: Just steps from the front door, this is one of London’s quaintest “villages.” The small parade of shops include Da Mario, a traditional Italian delicatessen, La Fromagerie, Godfrey’s English butchers and Mrs Lovell’s Greengrocers.  The Beach Hut fish and chip shop brings a delicious taste of the seaside to central London in a wonderfully stylish setting. There is also a pharmacy/chemist, several cafés, a post office with ATM, supermarket and a traditional British pub serving real ales and good food. There are also a couple of good restaurants, Turkish Iznik and Mediterranean Stingray with several more within a 10 minute walk.

Upper Street: A tranquil walk through Highbury fields brings you directly to Upper Street, Islington’s vibrant high street. Its lively thoroughfare boasts a wide selection of designer boutiques, great pubs and world class theatre including The Almeida, the King’s Head the only pub in the world with its own opera company and a fantastic selection of real ales in a magnificent traditional London pub. At the bottom of Upper Street the Screen on the Green is a luxuriously refurbished independent cinema. The range of restaurants is wide and international with chic eateries including Ottolenghi and  Carluccio’s.

Highbury Fields: One of London’s most elegant parks which contrasts perfectly with trendy Islington to its south. Georgian terraces line the wide boulevards running the length of this conservation area - peep into their graceful rooms inhabited by discerning journalists, actors and recently joined by London’s mayor, Boris Johnson. Number 22 was featured in the film Four Weddings and a Funeral. A sociable place popular with joggers, dog walkers, families the park has a children’s play area, several tennis courts, a swimming pool and a very popular café.
